The Vannberg Lab, lead by Fredrik Vannberg, is part of the Center for Integrative Genomics at Georgia Tech, and is affiliated with the Parker H. Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences (IBB). The laboratory started in the summer of 2011 and is currently located in newly renovated lab and computational space in the Gilbert Boggs Building.

The Vannberg Lab utilizes computational algorithms and genomics to investigate infectious diseases:

  1. Clinical metagenomics to diagnose infections from viruses, bacteria and fungi
  2. Human genetics
    1. Human immunity to pathogens including HIV-1/2, M. ulcerans, M. leprae
    2. Mendelian Studies of Primary Immundeficiency and Lysosomal Disorder patients
  3. Systems Biology
    1. Role of nanovesicular exosomes during infection using genomic and proteomic strategies
